Thermoteknix Celebrates 25 Years of Infrared Pioneering
Thermoteknix Systems Ltd has just celebrated 25 years of innovation in infrared technology with a major event drawing attendees from all corners of the globe. An international two day sales meeting was held at the Thermoteknix Conference Facility at the company’s HQ Teknix House in Cambridge, England, attended by Sales Agents from many countries; including Egypt, India, Philippines, Singapore, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Lebanon, South Africa, Pakistan, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The meeting included product presentations and demonstrations from all key Thermoteknix Sales Managers and culminated in a Grand Gala Dinner at the University Arms Hotel in Cambridge - to which all Sales Agents, Thermoteknix staff, key customers and suppliers were invited and over 100 people attended. Also visiting the Thermoteknix headquarters for the first time was Bud Foran who has been taken on as Thermoteknix Regional Sales Manager with responsibility for the Eastern regions of USA and Canada and who has many years of experience working in infrared. It is appropriate that, as Thermoteknix celebrated its Silver Anniversary, the company was also named as the Small Innovative Company of the Year at the Innovation & Design Excellence Awards (iDEA). The prestigious awards, organised by Cranfield School of Management and the magazines Eureka and New Electronics were presented at a luncheon at The Park Lane Hilton Hotel in London in September. The presentations were hosted by writer and broadcaster Frances Edmonds who told the audience that ‘Thermoteknix use a range of innovative technologies and methods to hold its own against much bigger overseas competitors’. The company was selected for the iDEA award following a full day’s assessment at the company’s Cambridge, England, headquarters by a judging team led by Eureka magazine editor, Lou Reade and Marek Szwejczewski, Senior Research Fellow in Operations Management at the University of Cranfield. It has been an exciting year for Thermoteknix Systems awards-wise as the company was recently shortlisted for the coveted Institution of Engineering and Technology Innovation in Engineering Awards to be announced early in November this year.
