Thermoteknix Systems - 'Born to Ride'
Harley Davidson have chosen the Thermoteknix VisIR® Ti 200 infrared camera as their preferred infrared camera supplier.
Harley Davidson Japan have taken delivery of their Thermoteknix VisIR Ti200 thermal imaging camera which has been bought as part of their R & D engineering commitment to Harley Davidson motorcycle development. The VisIR® camera is a radiometric thermal imaging camera with a large established customer base for Predictive Maintenance and R&D purposes.
One purpose for the infrared camera is to evaluate ‘Before and After’ effects on riders' hands and faces when riding with and without a new innovative design of windshield fitted to the Harley. The VisIR® infrared camera will also be used for laboratory testing and ongoing research in Harley engine performance.
The thermal images taken with Thermoteknix VisIR® infrared camera are impressive, showing first the Harley’s engine block starting to warm up and then the heat gradually spreading down into the exhausts.
The VisIR® Ti 200 infrared camera takes both thermal and simultaneous visual images which enable rapid identification of equipment – in this case, different parts of the Harley.
Using Thermoteknix' unique real time infrared data acquisition and analysis system, it is possible to blend and fade the visible and thermal images (see image above right).
