Company Technical Profile
Thermoteknix Systems Limited is a successful, international award winning company which has been established for over 25 years. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and successful, hi-tech, innovative Cambridge based company, supplying a world-wide market. We are a medium sized company engaged in the design, manufacture and sale of hardware and software for the infrared industry.

Current major Thermoteknix designed products include PC image processing and application systems based on our infrared imaging and line scan infrared cameras, sold directly and through our network of overseas agents. We also manufacture infrared cameras and cores for OEM third party system builders and integrators.

We are currently recruiting for the following vacancies:


Senior Electronics Engineer (Release date 16/12/09)

Candidate
Due to continued expansion, we are now looking to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer to work in our busy R&D Hardware department, working on a variety of infra-red thermal imaging related projects. This position will be based at our Head Offices in Waterbeach, just North of Cambridge.

The role would suit a candidate who wants the challenge and interest of working with a variety of technologies and is happy to read up about technology areas that aren't in their previous experience i.e. a flexible approach is demanded. A commitment to producing 'right first time' quality products is also essential.

Work Profile
This post is likely to involve undertaking a wide variety of tasks e.g. feasibility studies for new products, circuit design, PCB layout, system integration type projects, maintenance of existing product designs, EMC and Low Voltage product approvals, and production support. The technologies involved are also varied and include general radiometric (infrared) system design, digital design including FPGAs/CPLD's (language VHDL or Verilog),
DSP and microprocessors, precision and video rate analogue design, optoelectronics, small motor control, and power supply design.

Academic Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with 'A' level grades (A or B) plus a degree in Electronics or Physics (or the equivalent).

Experience Required

The candidate should be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the technologies involved in their current experience. Other important qualities include a good academic background and the ability and enthusiasm to find out about, and work in, new areas. A demonstrable commitment to producing 'right first time' quality work is essential.
